Procurement ESG Business Analyst

The Role

Right now, in addition to consumer health and climate change, we are focusing on six other key areas, spanning the full lifecycle of our products. We have grouped these areas into three broad categories of our People & Planet agenda: healthier futures, positive contribution to society, and safe & inclusive workplace.

 

This role will be responsible for supporting the Procurement ESG Lead in developing plans, materials, providing data, reporting & insights.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Analyse supplier and ESG data to understand trends and forecasts, create hypothesis and questions to understand where there may be underperformance and opportunities,
  • Identify relevant baselines, calculations and metrics that can be used to measure the effectiveness of ESG initiatives and suggest relevant targets,
  • Coordinate the inputs and submissions required from procurement into various Organisations ESG Governance forums,
  • Build collateral documentation and training materials to upskill the Procurement community in analytics & understanding of our People & Planet agenda as well as wider ESG topics and how these are relevant to specific categories of spend,
  • Support the identification and embedding of sustainability considerations into the category management and sourcing strategy development process,
  • Work in collaboration with Procurement Capability, suppliers and relevant category teams.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Numerical and data analysis skills incl. analytics of large data sets, with ability to seek out similar data for cross-comparison,
  • Solid understanding of ESG principles such as the GHG Protocol and SBTi targets,
  • Ability to design KPI and metrics,
  • Experience working in a Global Procurement team and/or Sustainability team, in ESG and/or Risk assessments & reporting,
  • Awareness of best practice Supply Chain Net Zero and ethical supply chain objectives, as well as interest in/experience working with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion data,
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, strong communication skills,
  • Ability to evaluate, understand and translate data reports and analytics into simple terms,
  • Strong English language skills.
