NGP Procurement Project Manager

The Role

An inclusive, innovative global FMCG business supported by 26,000 employees is looking for a NGP Procurement Project Manager, who is accountable for leading the procurement project engagement, development and execution of procurement commodity strategies. They will collaborate with Manufacturing Partners and liaise across IMB functional teams, driving robust and transparent procurement decision-making. They will lead the Supplier Relationship Management, represent the Next Generation Products Procurement team and assist the manufacturing partner on materials requirements.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Development, implementation, successful execution and continuously review of the Product Supply Strategy in conjunction with Category, Innovations, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance and Technology Realisation leadership teams.
  • Accountable for new supplier onboarding and complying to IMB standards and ways of working.
  • Interface regularly with Senior Forums within IMB to align and make recommendations on Strategic topics.
  • Negotiate Costs for new designs as well as annual negotiation.
  • Pro-actively drive and foster a culture of continuous improvement and best practice within the team and beyond to drive costs down while maintaining quality, drive capability gap analysis.
  • Control the NGP Approved Vendor List.
  • Awareness of evolving legislation and collaboration with the Regulatory team required to ensure compliance for all product and process introductions or changes; support PMTA submissions as required.
  • Scouting of new products, technologies and partners.

Skills & Experience

  • Is ambitious and driven to achieve results. Has the ability to consistently deliver through others.
  • Well organised, reliable and a commercial awareness.
  • A highly credible individual with a proven track record to influence and manage internal and external senior level stakeholders, and in managing strategic relationships.
  • Communication, analytical, negotiation and strategic skills.
  • Specific direct category management procurement experience (including technology and outsourced manufacture experience). Mechanical / Electrical or FMCG categories considered.
  • Experience in onboarding new partners, new product and/or process instructions and project management.
  • Able to deal with a changing environment and with change-able requirements.
  • Experience with conducting and leading supplier audits.
  • Fluent oral and written English is essential.
  • Some domestic and international travel on short notice likely to be required.
