The Role

We are currently recruiting an Innovation Technician to come and join us permanently in our Liverpool office.

The role contributes to the development of the next generation formulation and product technologies, which are required for the company’s ambitious innovation programme and growth plans. As Innovation Technician, you would partake additional tasks such as testing and preparing of formulations, consumables, and product prototypes.

As Innovation Technician, we are able to offer flexible working solutions to suit the role holder in our Liverpool office.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Take a leading role in specifying, installing, managing, and maintaining the next generation laboratory space and equipment.
  • Take a leading role in managing the testing workload across three next gen categories and collaborate with leads to ensure effective prioritisation and reporting.
  • Support technology development leads with creating prototypes and managing their analysis with consumers and equipment.
  • Generate and document development activities e.g. Idea creation, visit reports, technology assessment, and development protocols.
  • Collaborating across functions including Product Development, Procurement, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing, as well as external vendors, to deliver successful outcomes within specified timelines.
  • Providing technical support for consumable and formulation development opportunities

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience in liquids formulation, processing, filling, and characterisation
  • Experience soft solids formulation, processing (e.g., extrusion, casting, etc.) and characterisation
  • Ability to breakdown activities into achievable tasks and provide effective solutions.
  • Candidates must have a drive for learning; continuous improvement and open to new ideas and techniques & good time management/ability working to deadlines.
  • Experience with running, maintaining, and specifying equipment for lab spaces.
  • Experience in the specifying, managing, and reporting of testing initiatives.
