The role

We are seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified accountant looking for their first step into industry or next step in their career, which allows for broad exposure across the business. A wide-ranging role which will see you take primary responsibility for consolidating the Group’s financial and non-financial data for our global business, across a multitude of currencies. Consulting with local finance teams across the world, shared service centres and more senior stakeholders to ensure a sound basis for internal and external reporting. Your role will also be key in the preparation of the Group’s Annual Report & Accounts, Board and Audit Committee papers, including various disclosure notes.

This is a 12 month Fixed Term opportunity

Key Accountabilities

Manage the process for consolidating the submissions of over three hundred entities across the world and coordinating with local finance teams and shared service centres to produce a single set of consolidated financial results for the Group, by:

• Ensuring monthly entity submissions are reported accurately and on time, challenging significant movements and ensuring adherence with Group policies
• Overseeing monthly intercompany eliminations process
• Owning and managing the Group Intangibles Model
• Monitor and prepare disclosure notes for inclusion in the Annual Report and Accounts including, but not limited to provisions, intangible / tangible assets, investments in Joint Ventures and Minority Interests
• Provide coaching and training to Local Finance Teams
• Support Internal and External Auditors during the Annual Audit and Review processes
• Support in the preparation and audit of various head office statutory accounts under IFRS / UKGAAP
• Provide support to the CFIN project team as we seek to upgrade our financial systems, ensuring the Group Consolidation and Reporting functionality is fit-for-purpose.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA)
• 0-3yrs PQE
• Technically strong and good understanding of IFRS/UK GAAP
• Ability to communicate with various levels of stakeholders across multiple locations
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
• Diligent approach, with great attention to detail

Desirable

• Experience of working in a large organisation or group
• Experience of a Group consolidation process in a multi-currency environment
• Experience of working in multiple GAAP environment
• Experience with IBM Cognos Controller
