The role

This is a developmental role, within the Business Transformation team, with on-the-job training and coaching to foster strong project management capabilities, to support the delivery of Imperial’s strategy.

The role will provide key support in helping Imperial meet its transformation goals, ensuring that plans are aligned, the status fully is understood and that risks are being managed.

You will build strong relationships with key people throughout the business including: Chief Strategy & Development Officer, Global Transformation Director, Operating Model Workstream Leads, Location and group Deployment Leads / Deployment PMOs, Projects Leads and PMOs, Change Leads, Agents, and Change Networks, Group Communications and also third party consultants. 

This role is based in Bristol with 50 / 50 hybrid working. Therefore you will be required to be in Bristol 2 to 3 days per week.

Key accountabilities

Support the planning and management of integrated Design, Deployment and Change transformation activities:

• Maintain & develop the transformation frameworks (including all associated tools), capturing and making updates based on lessons learned
• Maintain the integrated deployment / change plan (what is getting deployed, where, and when) to ensure the team have a consolidated view of Functional, Local and Hub deployment activities and the deployment of change across the organisation
• Support with change planning and deliverables, including the creation, execution, and analytics of pulse surveys
• Ensure completion of team actions and provide decision making support on the transformation backlog prioritisation

 Manage plan governance, tracking and reporting, as well as providing support with risk management:

• Plan and lead fortnightly deployment status reporting / change deliverable check-ins with Programmes and Deployment Leads to ensure all deployment stage-gates are on track, interdependencies are being managed, and any cross functional or deployment risks/issues are being appropriately managed
• Work closely with the Strategic Portfolio teams to ensure the deployment stage gate timings are up to date in the integrated deployment plan
• Maintain the Transformation RAID log, ensuring that risks & issues and periodically reviewed and following up on mitigation actions

Assist with the management of programme planning meetings/assets:

• Assist with transformation governance meetings and the respective reporting, recording, and following up on actions
• Where required, support with the co-ordination, content collation and delivery of specific transformation meetings
• Maintain the programme MS Teams channels, ensuring the structure is up to date and that appropriate access rights are in place
• Maintain the programme governance artifacts and ensure they are periodically reviewed for appropriateness

Skills and experience required

Essential:

• Practical use of Excel to consolidate information and build dashboards
• Project management experience (professionally or part of education)
• Experience of reporting and information management
• Strong and clear communicator at all levels and geographies
• Builds strong relationships with project teams
• Self-driven and excellent organisational skills
• Highly adaptable around the changing needs of a programme
• Highly collaborative
• Track record in delivery

Desirable:

• Project Management qualification
