The role

Reporting to the Head of Compliance and PLM Platform, the Track & Trace Solution Architect - Central Repository will be responsible for creating and validating the Central Repository architectures and designs while overseeing and providing technical guidance to IT vendors delivering relevant solutions. In doing so, as our T&T Solution Architect Central Repository you will oversee and control solution delivery by relevant IT vendors, where you ensure timely, quality and value for money solution delivery. You also seek opportunities to build out and leverage existing components of the platform and reusable services, drive sustainable and scalable architectures that leverage state-of-art technologies and oversee and influence product roadmap development in collaboration with relevant IT vendors. Location: remote.

Key accountabilities

• Perform hands-on solution design, solution architectures, architecture roadmaps, prototyping, proof-of-concepts, and development tasks as required in support of current and new projects and improvements;
• Ensure solution is scalable and meets overall business requirements;
• Act as a liaison between Technical team, Vendors, Business Partners and Enterprise Architecture to drive developments and implementations;
• Be recognised as a functional and technical expert in relevant Domain Architecture;
• Conduct Solution Architecture reviews with IT vendors, project teams and other stakeholders prior to design and development activities and ensure solution is scalable, is aligned with internal and external product roadmaps and meets customers’ business requirements;
• Guide and control technical team & vendors to deliver flexible and scalable solutions;
• Work with offshore teams as required;
• Participate in shaping demand activities and internal initiatives as required.

Skills & experience

Domain Requirements

• Sound understanding of T&T requirements for Manufacturing and Supply Chain processes including relevant integration patterns and architecture best practices;
• Experience in agile software development and project management;
• Experience in contracting for development as well as assessing available licensing options;
• An experienced T&T solutions architect, able to assess the current digital technology maturity, identify gaps and shape a comprehensive, end-to-end digital blueprint and technology roadmap;
• At minimum 5+ years’ experience with development and implementation of T&T solutions and technology including Big Data, Kubernetes and Cloud technology;
• Experienced in supporting business development activities, including designing and top-down and bottom-up estimating T&T solutions based on minimal requirements provided by Business Partners.

 

General Requirements

• Must: FMCG background and experience;
• Extensive experience in systems development and an understanding of the systems development / delivery life cycle including requirements and design;
• Strong Information analysis, modeling and database design skills;
• Breadth of knowledge in established and emerging data technologies, including Big Data and ‘as a service’ architectures;
• Strong problem solving, communication, relationship building skills;
• Engaging, articulate and able to influence across internal IS and business stakeholders;
• Natural gravitas based on foundation of sound knowledge of subject matter and communication abilities. Strong and inspirational leadership qualities and a common sense approach;
• Proven networking skills and stakeholder management skills with a good understanding of the wider objectives;
• Ability to work positively with a wide range of individuals;
• Fluent verbal and written English language skills.
