The role

For our Logistics team in Hamburg, we are looking for a Regional Logistics Manager (m/f/d)!

The Regional Logistics Manager will be defining the logistic strategy in the specific region so called Secondary Logistics, responsible for all logistics operations outside factories and within factories for FG storing and handling, managing our own logistic operation and 3rd party logistic provider to manage capacity, quality, risk, and cost. The role holder ensures expected quality and compliance to all internal and external standards and regulations, is accountable for establishment and maintenance of cost efficient and compliant logistic processes, procures all regional F&L services on behalf and in the frame Global Procurement, ensures sufficient warehousing and transport capacity, supports supporting Primary, Leaf and SC Business partner in all aspects of logistic, manages all dispatch departments in factories and/or primary warehouses, works closely with the Manger Primary Transport to ensure a full market supply at optimal cost and quality, acts as a Business Partner to ensure optimal service delivery to the Customer Excellence function, executes local import and export customs provisions on behalf of Central Customs and defines cost targets and KPIs scorecards

What are your major duties?

  • Define the logistic strategy in the defined region.
  • Responsible for all logistics operations outside factories and within factories for FG storing and handling. Managing our own logistic operation and 3rd party logistic provider to manage capacity, quality, risk and cost.
  • Manage, monitor and improve the logistics budget in the defined region.
  • Drive organisation effectiveness agenda and provide performance advisory services as a Regional Logistics Manager for the cluster and SC Business Partner.
  • Lead and/or support all logistical procurement activities. Tendering, negotiation and contracting of all external warehouses, distribution networks for the Group in cooperation with Global Procurement
  • Support SC Excellence by setting logistics relevant standards
  • Frequent reviews of 3rd parties, concepts, contractual terms and conditions for the logistic operations and contractors
  • Ensure sufficient freight and warehousing capacity in the defined region.
  • Ensure a seamless logistic supply to the factories with leaf and NTM.
  • Manage all dispatch departments in factories and/or primary warehouses. Works closely with the Manger primary transport to ensure a full market supply at optimal cost and quality.
  • Establish procedures and control mechanisms in accordance with i.e. Group Security, Group insurance, etc
  • Ensure the execution of carrier and wh audits as defined in the Audit Program
  • Define cost targets and KPI set
  • Define scorecard for the secondary logistic execution

Who are you?

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Significant experience in Logistics and supply chain management
  • Proven leadership and motivation skills
  • Excellent communication skills as well as proven negotiation, collaboration and interpersonal leadership skills
  • Ability to challenge directives that impact financial and operational performance of the functional area
  • Understanding of the global business and the functionality interdependencies of other groups

Desirable:

  • Operational/job expertise in 3rd party logistics operations
  • Familiarity with the latest research and thinking
  • Effective problem and conflict resolution skills and proven team focus
