For our People & Culture Team in Bristol we are looking for a People & Culture Advisor.

The role

As a member of the People & Culture team, the People & Culture Advisor will participate in realising the People agenda for designated areas of the business, supporting the P&C Director and Business Partners in the provision of a range of professional people advisory services to managers and employees.

The P&C Advisor is competent in all aspects of Employee Relations best practice and UK legislation and is able to manage specific ER related processes for teams based in UK such as individual consultation, organisational change and restructuring, redundancies and severance arrangements, etc.

The P&C Advisor provides support to Business Partners across the full range of other P&C activities for relevant global function, i.e. planning, provision of data and participating in a wide range of activities: resourcing, engagement, resourcing, talent management and performance processes and will take on own ad hoc projects.

The People & Culture Advisor will report into People & Culture BP (P&C) but will work closely with the assigned P&C BPs across Global Functions, supporting employees and managers.

Key accountabilities

  • Strong operational and working knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice employee relations
  • Prepare and manage employee relations casework and provide guidance  to managers and employees on employee relations processes and procedures including: PIP, Absence, Return to work, Grievances & Disciplinary, Change Impact Assessments and Individual Consultation, Redundancy & Settlement agreements, Flexible working requests
  • For the above:
  • Drive preparation of a consultation process
  • Prepare time lines and deadlines
  • Prepare documents, templates, rules that are necessary for each step of the process
    • Conduct individual disciplinary, grievance, consultation meetings with employees
    • Work closely with the Pensions team to prepare redundancy numbers
    • Prepare redundancy packs
    • Liaise with solicitors for settlement agreements preparations
  • Manage data access requests
  • Identify, quantify and effectively mitigate risks and issues
  • Coach, guide and support people managers to formulate pragmatic and business focused solutions, balancing that with policy application and broader employment legislation
  • Analyse data and information in order to provide clear people information to the organisation
  • Responsible of data Audit for the P&C Teams
  • Support P&C BPs in some steps of the ‘International transfers’ process

Skills & experience

  • You have 3 years’ broad HR experience in a professional HR Function (including ER experience, and exposure to some other areas of HR activity)
  • You have a relevant University/Bachelor Degree
  • CIPD qualification /Professional Qualification in HR are preferable
  • Effective at driving and implementing projects
  • Sound time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) as well as strong negotiation, influencing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to learn quickly, acquire new skills and solve problems with a solution orientated approach
  • Proven under pressure delivery
  • Numerate, data literate and sound analytical skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Positive, can do attitude
  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal)
  • Experience using HR systems (e.g. Workday)
  • Previous work in fast paced FMCG / CPG organisation
  • Experience in unionised environment
