The role

Sustainability and Compliance Project Manager
Permanent, Full time

Here at Imperial Brands we have an exciting opportunity for a Global Marketing Sustainability and Compliance Lead to join our team. The purpose of this role will be to Lead strategy, identification, development and delivery of future consumer products, packaging, and communication solutions with a key focus on sourcing sustainable materials and reducing plastic waste.

Key accountabilities

  • Own the consumer facing sustainability strategy, clearly articulating the areas where Imperial Brands should focus its time & investment including opportunity identification and initiation of new work streams.
  • Directing and prioritising the development of future consumer relevant products & packaging solutions based on sound consumer research, including development of supporting messaging.
  • Working with the Sustainability team to deliver communication to investors / external stakeholders
  • Responsible for the development of a best practice guidelines on how best to communicate sustainability with the consumer using multiple touchpoints including packaging and direct consumer communication.
  • Responsible for the delivery of master artworks on time with complete alignment with Global Brand team.

Skills & experience

  • Good understanding of brand marketing and consumer behaviour
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally within FMCG
  • Background in sustainable sourcing of materials that are more environmentally friendly
  • Good understanding of compliance issues, ideally around manufacturing and materials
  • Good understanding of the consumer, driving initiatives to meet the desired consumer need
  • Ability to influence the direction and thinking of senior stakeholders
  • Good commercial understanding and able to structure, write and deliver a Business Cases.
  • Cross-functional working experience within a central function, with track record of successfully handling complex projects
  • Ability to frame and explain complex concepts to other colleagues and forums
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to gain top level buy in for a company wide initiative
