Integral to our long-term success is our sustainability strategy, behaving responsibly and supporting our ambitions, all underpinned by high governance.

Encouraging inclusion at local levels and supporting a developing and robust diversity agenda globally, we’re fully committed to creating and maintaining an environment that celebrates and respects difference.

The Role

A role within Imperial's Insights function.

By building a global Insight Hub, a key digital asset in Imperial's insight strategy, this position will significantly enhance the Insights community’s ability to self-serve data and reporting, build insight stories and share learnings.

By building and maintaining a standardised global MDM structure this position will support the Insights community’s ability to create standardised global reports and share data and insights more effectively.

Additional Information

Imperial Brands is currently undergoing a strategic transformation to become a consumer-centric organisation and the new Insights function will be a crucial driving force behind this change, placing consumer preferences and demands at the centre of commercial decision making to gain competitive advantage.

Within the Insights services team, the role of the interim data & reporting team is to transform how we use consumer data, driving standardised best practice across the business.

Working together with Insight colleagues and an external delivery partner, the role of the Interim MDM & Insights Hub Support is to stand up and maintain the Insights Hub and to manage. This project will democratise access to data across the organisation, allowing users to self-serve data and reporting across all types of insight. It will also act as a library of best-practice insights, outcomes and case studies, thereby providing an environment for the insight community to learn from each other.

Delivering this tool successfully will enable insights to be delivered quicker and to a consistently higher standard, freeing up stakeholder time for more value-add activities.

Building on work completed by consulting partners, the role of Interim MDM & Insights Hub Support will take responsibility for managing the process of maintaining and reviewing our global MDM structure. The role will be responsible for engaging with stakeholders across the business ensuring that the MDM structure meets user requirements and acting as an ambassador for the importance of these standards in delivering effective insight outputs.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensuring that the Insight Hub delivered on time and in line with requirements. Drive adoption via creating an environment that is fast, easy to use, self-explanatory, robust and integrated.
  • Work with users to continually review the functionality of the insights Hub, the range of needs it should meet, and how it interacts with other tools and systems. Promote the requirement for system integration, with the insight Hub acting as the first port of call for meeting insight needs across the wider insight community
  • Work with management across the insights team to identify end-user personas, understand overall demand to meet their specific reporting needs and develop persona-specific content
  • Work with colleagues in Reporting and Consumer and Market Insights to help structure data content and information to depict a clear consumer narrative, and aid easier storytelling / decisioning per business process
  • Work closely with the chosen provider in overseeing hub production. Brief them as required, act as contact point for any queries, and ensure that their execution is to the correct standard
  • Oversee data access, governance and compliance post-setup. Make sure that the external provider continues to maintain the tool as per the agreement
  • Responsible for maintaining the reliability and integrity of the overall hub, plus troubleshooting and resolving issues
  • Act as point of contact for assisting end-users with specific queries regarding the Hub, bringing data, analytics and reporting specialists where required
  • Work with the Hive Product Manager to design the process for collating standardised MDM requirements in preparation for the launch of the Enterprise MDM model in FY24
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues, as well as acting as first point of contact for anyone with a question about data mapping and definitions
  • Manage the collecting and testing of MSS and Retail sales data
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with key stakeholders across CMI, NGP and key geographies to make sure data needs are met, expectations are set correctly about what is possible, and all parties are kept informed

  • Comfortable with both the depths of technical detail (e.g. specific data queries), and the bigger picture (e.g. how they will be used/combined on the site to create an overall story of the consumer)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting an ambitious schedule for the centralisation and standardisation of data/insights

Desirable:
