ABOUT FONTEM

Fontem Ventures, a subsidiary of Imperial Brands plc is a leader in vaping technology and owns e-vapour brand blu. Headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and with its research & development centre in Liverpool, UK, Fontem Ventures develops and commercialises vaping products under the blu brand.

THE ROLE

The Head of Product will build a high performing product development team that support NGP Digital targets with consumer-facing digital products, features and services through best-in-class systems, product expertise and agile cross functional scrum teams in line with the NGP and market commitments. 

This role will help NGP Digital realise its global expansion and consumer strategy ambitions, while leading a growing team of digital specialist and capabilities to accelerate its performance. It will do so by aligning stakeholders, directing the product roadmap, prioritising features, building consensus, and coordinating product schedules with wider business. Together with the Head of Digital and Technology this role is responsible for innovation, performance and the global roll-out of markets in the NGP operating model.  

The role will be part of the NGP Digital leadership team and will have a direct relationship with Category Directors, CX Leads and relevant marketing leads across the business.

Primary focus areas for the role are technological enablement of Brand and consumer experience (through gap and opportunity mapping) and performance driven program increments (through data driven product management). This role reports directly to the Global Head of Digital and is expected to run a team of Acquire, Convert, Retain Product Team Leads that are responsible to deliver on strategy expectations and roadmaps.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set and achieve global Consumer Engagement delivery targets and strategic OKR’s
  • Strategic planning and management of the entire product portfolio
  • Co-create and execute Digital Product strategy and roadmap (with Product Leads) to drive consumer insight and business value
  • Coaching and developing the product management team
  • Integrate and execute the User Experience strategy across our connected consumer journey
  • Responsible for strategic partnerships and lead necessary contract negotiations
  • Responsible for the definition and execution of the product roadmap within NGP digital, underpinned by data driven decision making
  • Define the data driven product development process (all the way from user research, to ideation, design, development, launch and evaluation)
  • Initiate improvements of operations to improve efficiency, quality, and consumer experience
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a consumer centric product organization and mindset
  • Build (internal) self-organizing and cross-functional teams of developers, product owners, scrum masters, customer services which are empowered to manage priorities and work
  • Select (with the head of Technology) and manage 3rd party marketing technology and tooling suppliers
  • Technological enablement of consumer experience and brand strategy
  • Initiate and drive digital eco-system vision, strategy and roadmap focusing on near-term impact and long-term capabilities
  • Define, improve and maintain the quality standards for the digital product

YOUR PROFILE

Essential:

  • BA degree in technology, business or equivalent
  • 8+ years’ experience in software, eCommerce, Marketing-technology, marketing or product management
  • Proven track record of leading international teams of up to 50 people with a blend of internal and external resources
  • Excellent organisation skills, time management, and change management across multiple groups and projects of various size and complexity
  • Ability to liaise with and influence other service groups and departments to facilitate and co-ordinate their efforts to develop and improve great consumer experiences
  • Thinking strategically end-to-end from a digital product perspective
  • Agile mindset and proven Scrum Experience
  • Product Management qualifications
  • Experience delivering high-availability, large-scale, real-time software-as-a-service products including integration of 3rd party systems and data
  • Experience with frameworks and tools for development, testing and operations
  • Team-player with collaborative attitude towards stakeholders, partners and users

Desirable:

  • Experience FMCG
  • Strong experience of managing an agile DevOps operating model with self-empowered cross functional teams
  • Demonstrable experience in managing local and remote teams, and outside contractors or firms
  • Ability to present and share a compelling vision across the wider organisation
  • Experience with being commercially responsible for digital performance (eCommerce, marketing, technology usage)
  • Experience in growing usage of digital features
  • Understanding of (regulated) retail landscape
  • Experience in working with regulated products
