The Role

The Planning and Communications manager develops and implements capacity planning process and tools for Group Science. Leads a small team and ensures compliance with finance and procurement processes for GSRA. Manages the business planning process and its delivery for GSRA.

They also create, lead and implements the Group Science internal communication strategy and builds the internal profile of GSRA. Leads engagement programmes with the GSRA Senior Leadership team to ensure alignment and coordination of change initiatives.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Develops, implements and improves capacity planning process and tools for the GSRA function. Enabling a proactive approach and focused prioritisation aligned to corporate strategy and business plan.
  • Leading the Group Science internal communication strategy, to ensure the function delivers its strategic and operational internal communication goals, and builds Imperial Brands’ Science internal profile.
  • Develops forward looking strategy of workforce planning. To understand the capabilities needed in the long-term and identifies options to access them.
  • Leads engagement programmes with Group Science Senior Leadership Team to ensure alignment, support and coordination of change initiatives.  Develops and provides material to support leading change initiatives (including sharing best practice & key learnings from internal / external activities.
  • Works with relevant stakeholders to oversee the creation and implementation of tailored learning programmes for technical capabilities, efficiency in business processes and building agility.
  • Manages the Business Planning process for GSRA.
  • Champions Group Science within the business to ensure the optimal stakeholder network to enable us to deliver our Vision.
  • Manage the delivery of ad-hoc strategic projects for the Director of Group Science and projects that develop or improve operational processes and best practice ways of working for GSRA.
  • Responsible for monitoring financial performance against functional business plan throughout the year.
  • Leads a small team responsible for identifying and maintaining the preferred supplier list for GSRA, managing the financial spend of critical and material projects within the function, ensuring training and compliance in procurement and finance business processes.
