Competitive Salary + Benefits 

We are seeking a Group Reporting Manager to join our team.  This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accountant looking for the next step in their career. You will be responsible for preparing the Group’s annual and half year report statutory financial statements; providing technical accounting support to the entities in the Group; reviewing the financial and non-financial data relating to the Group consolidation; working on ad hoc projects such as accounting for group restructures. 

Key accountabilities

  • Group External Reporting
    • Produce Group and PLC financial statements for external publication for the full and half year
    • Ensure external Group and Financial Statements are materially compliant and clearly present; and explain the Group’s reported performance and financial position
    • Ensure consistency of external financial statements and internal reporting
  • Head office subsidiaries
    • Prepare the head office subsidiaries financial statements
    • Review accounting treatments to ensure activity is correctly reported
  • Accounting advice on Group reorganisations
  • Act as key contact for external auditors
  • Monthly reporting
    • Prepare consolidated primary financial statements for senior management review
    • Review consolidated primary statements movements to ensure reasonable and explained
    • Review all head office subsidiaries on a monthly basis, ensuring books and records are prepared accurately and timely
    • Review accounting treatments of changes in group structure and financing. Ensuring appropriately accounted for
  • Responsible for reporting shares and preparation of share scheme workings
  • Act as intermediate with Group Pension advisors and ensure that the Group’s entities correctly record the Group’s pension schemes
  • Manage and execute ad hoc projects in relation to Group Reporting, Treasury Accounting and other ad hoc areas

Skills & experience

Essential 

  • Qualified accountant with 5+ years PQE
  • Technically strong
  • Experience with a large and complex consolidation process
  • Ability to liaise and influence across large geographically and culturally disparate groups
  • Ability to deliver through team while maintaining control and quality
  • Strong controls focus and ability to enforce compliance
  • Close attention to detail
  • Drive and enthusiasm to ensure team succeeds in achieving fixed and demanding deadlines
  • Commitment and flexibility to work to tight and demanding deadlines

 

Desirable 

  • Experience of IBM Controller
  • Inquisitive and willing to challenge the status quo
