The role

Here at Imperial brands we have a new opportunity for an experienced Finance professional to join Imperial as a Category Finance Business Partner for EVP (Electronic Vaping Products). Reporting into the NGP Finance Director, this role will have a global remit and be responsible for ensuring the Category achieves financial objectives along the total P&L, including revenue, profit and market share. You will co-pilot the EVP business along with the EVP Director and have an instrumental role in providing financial insights to enable the EVP director to identify and drive levers of commercial growth and manage Category spend to improve revenues and profit.

NGP is a focal point of growth with a refreshed focus on commercial capabilities in which this position will play a key, influential part.

Key accountabilities

  • End to end stewardship of EVP P&L for the EVP Director
  • Define the commercial strategy for EVP - ensuring commercial objectives are met without compromising the critical need for innovation, establishing commercial KPIs.
  • Lead business case development and modelling with input from other parts of the Category team (Marketing, Digital, Innovation).
  • Define what commercial success looks like and build supporting KPI framework (omni-channel) with the Category Insight Lead.
  • Work with EVP Director to identify opportunities and make commercial recommendations to ensure profitability and growth, quantifying and analysing risk accordingly.
  • Understand market conditions (taxation, legal environment, distribution model) and factor these into commercial recommendations and proposals.
  • Model path to profitability and work with Category team to identify and prioritise strategies for in-market commercial growth.
  • Input to development of best practice Finance processes, governance and stewardship.

Skills & experience

  • Educated to degree level in Finance or a related field.
  • Exceptional influencing skills at the senior level.
  • Highly commercial
  • Strong financial analysis and problem solving skills with an ability to identify strategy.
  • Proven experience creating sales and commercial strategies to drive long-term growth
  • Experience of leading, modelling and developing business cases in a similar sector
  • Highly collaborative and able to work effectively in a matrix organisation
  • Sector experience across FMCG. Specific experience of commercial or sales management within FMCG would be advantageous.
